Short Term Incentive System
- A System that Reflects Fairly the Efforts and Results of Employees Synergistically and Over the Long Term -

Bonuses are determined and paid by multiplying the payment rate and a figure matched to the results of the company, taking a payment target percentage in accordance with the basic annual salary and job grade of each employee as the standard.  Of course, each individual’s results assessment is reflected so the payment rate will fluctuate in accordance with individual results such that if an employee’s assessment is as expected, the payment coefficient will be 1.0, if the assessment is a level higher, the coefficient will be 1.2, and conversely, if the assessment is one rank lower than standard, the coefficient will be 0.8.

Each individual can expect to receive a high increase in basic annual pay by achieving higher results.  Moreover, because Bayer has adopted a system that calculates bonuses by multiplying by a higher bonus payment coefficient based on the increased basic annual salary, Bayer’s is a system that is able to reward the efforts and high results of employees synergistically and over long periods of time.
Information on these personnel and salary systems is available on the company intranet, where employees can understand how their annual pay and bonuses are calculated and also forecast by themselves to a certain degree what their annual income will be in the future.  Bayer has created systems that can connect the efforts of individuals with their expectations in regard to future annual income.
