Bayer contracts with several banks for employee home purchase support to provide home loans
at lower interest rates. In addition, Bayer has also established property accumulation saving
and property loan systems that receive favorable tax treatment in order to support home purchases.
In cases of transfer, an employee can start by living in Bayer’s leased company house in the
area the company has assigned the employee to and Bayer provides rent assistance. In
addition, after an employee has purchased a house, the value of that rent assistance will continue
to be paid as a housing allowance.
When an employee buys his or her own home with loan, he or she can have tax deductions in
accordance with the balance of the home loan as a favorable tax treatment measure. However,
when an employee cannot live their own home due to transfer, the employee cannot receive favorable
tax treatment. Bayer covers the equivalent amount for the employee who misses such tax
treatment.
